EVENT: 2016 LA Marathon
EVENT DATE: Feb 14, 2016
Hi Friends and Family!
Thank you for visiting my page! I'm about to embark on my fifth... that's 1-2-3-4-5 Marathon!!! 6 years ago, the only running I did was to the store when I ran out of milk, or to the bathroom when nature called. Today, 8 miles is considered a short run. Marathon training is still a difficult and demanding endeavor, and in fact I'm grateful for the days when we only have to do 8 miles. But I'm also grateful for the opportunity to do this on behalf of AADAP. AADAP is where I work, but it's also my second family, and I've come to greatly appreciate all that it does for the community. I can witness the life-changing work that goes on in our treatment programs, and hear the gratitude and hope in the voices of the clients as they graduate. I'm surrounded by wonderful co-workers who I see going above and beyond to serve a youth, parent, or individual, constantly sacrificing their time and resources to pour into other's lives. AADAP was my first job out of college, and in a way it has been my mentor and guide through my formative professional career. I've gained a lot of experience as well as awesome memories and relationships.
I want to give back to AADAP, and I need your help. This year, my goal is to raise $5000, all of which will go towards providing services to low-income individuals and families in need of affordable and quality services. You donation is 100% Tax-Deductible!
I got a late start this year, so I'm kickstarting my fundraiser by personally donating $100. Will you match that? $100 covers one client per day in residential treatment, where they have a bed, food, and receive all the specific support services they need.
You can easily donate through this page, or if you prefer to send in checks:
2900 S. Crenshaw Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90016
Include on Memo Line: "Paulina's Marathon"
Thank you for taking the time to read all of this, and thank you in advance for your support!

Say just those four words, and runners across the United States will immediately
know what you•re referring to: the iconic course of the ASICS LA Marathon, which is set for its 31st edition on February 14, 2016.
The ASICS LA Marathon has always been about much more than an invitational race for elite runners over the city’s streets. Since its inception in 1986, it has offered opportunities for involvement for athletic expression at all levels, for giving back to the community and for celebrating the unique nature of the communities all over the Los Angeles region.
In 2010, Marathon charities set an all-time record of $2 million in donations. The
enormous success led to the creation of the Marathon’s Charity Challenge, which
called upon fundraisers to set a new record of $3 million in donations in 2011.
Contributions passed the $1 million mark in mid-February 2011, the earliest date
ever, and charities ultimately reached the $3 million mark for that year’s race. For
the 2012 race, total charity contributions reached $3,023,326 and in 2013 the
numbers continued to rise, with all-time high charity participation totaling over 70
charities raising over 3.1 million dollars.
