I wanted to make a personal appeal to everyone about our charity project, A Slice of Hope.
This is going out to my personal email and facebook list, so if you get double appeals, please accept my apologies in advance, and forgive me as it's for a good cause.
Let me tell you a little bit about A Slice of Hope, www.asliceofhope.org :
A Slice of Hope is a Celebration of the Good in All of us. It spreads Joy and Optimism across America. We throw pizza parties with live music in homeless shelters. Just $1 sponsors 2 pizza slices and live music for a person in a homeless shelter directly making 1 person’s life better. A Slice of Hope donor directly creates a happy moment for a person in need. We combine that $1 with all the dollars from across the country allowing our donors to create tens of thousands of happy moments all across the country. When you're feeling happy, you get recharged and you can attack life's challenges all over again.
We throw Pizza Parties with Live Music in homeless shelters across the country. We feed the body with Pizza. We energize the spirit with Live Music. We soothe the mind with a happy moment and a happy memory. When people are reminded of happier times, it gives us the strength to fight on. It reminds us that life can get better. One happy moment can change a life.
A Slice of Hope is also a unifying project that shares strength, hope and joy across America. Every $1 sponsors 2 slices and live music for a person in need.
For just $1, a donor is making a direct difference for a person in need and creating a happy moment.
A Slice of Hope is also about celebrating the best of humanity. It's a unifying celebration that transcends race, religion, politics and economics.
The parties take place across America from June 18th - June 24th in 25 states. It's our 6th year of this project. It's grown in a grassroots fashions, by people telling people. So please feel free to share this with your friends and family.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 this year. We have many wonderful people who have contributed already. Many others have also startted their own Fundraiser of Giving Circles to benefit A Slice of Hope. I will add the total amount of the other fundraiser's pages to this page (as offline donations), so that it's all reflected in one place. :)
Without everyone's support and donations, we would not have the determination to do A Slice of Hope every year. We truly love 9and count on)our supporters and donors:
- Our logo was formed by a group of our supporters throwing around ideas (over pizza, of course)
- Our name, A Slice of Hope, is the 3rd evolution of the project's name. This name too came about because a group of volunteers sat around one night and threw around ideas
Please donate, please spread the word, please share with our email list, please share with your facebook list, please feel free to contact me with any ideas and any support.
And please Donate!! :)
