ASPEN'S 'CANCER IS EXPENSIVE' FUND
Organized by: Anthony David
Aspen is a fun-loving 8 year old Brittany Spaniel that has been through a lot in the past 2 years. . . she has undergone surgery to remove a grade 1 neurofibrosarcoma (soft tissue tumor comprised of nerve tissue), radiation therapy (which failed), and amputation of her right hind leg to ensure a cure when her tumor grew back. After over $10K all together, we brought home a happy tripawd and she healed quickly! Running and swimming and being herself, which I feared might never be the case. . . She is strong. She is resiliant. And I am going to fight for her. Fast forward to now. . . my food-loving furbaby that has never hesitated to eat anything that you put in front of her, has barely eaten for a month and a half. We have her on an appetite stimulant and have been very patient with her each day as we hand feed her pretty much anything that she will eat. This very spoiled pup gets wet food, treats, bacon, rice, sausage, sweet potatoes, chicken, etc etc etc per our vet's instructions to give her whatever she will eat, just get her to eat. A buffet is laid out every morning, and there are often tears of joy (from me obviously) if I find that she has eaten any of it. We are headed back into the diagnoses stage, which is quite frustrating and costly. Aspen will be undergoing an abdominal ultrasound (approx $500) on Thursday the 21st at VRCC, and we hope to have some answers after that. Again, I am going to fight for her.
