BENEFITING: ASSIL SIGHT FUND
EVENT DATE: Mar 20, 2011
The gift of sight, as well as our other senses, is often taken for granted. Those of us who have been faced with an affliction, either through birth, or unexpected circumstances, learn to develop and cherish whatever senses we are blessed with.
Many of you were there with me during the "eye patch as an accessory" days. I fondly remember how my friends, in attempt to make me feel better, thought it would be great to bedazzle my little patch! I wore it for three months and had to learn how to adapt to vision out of one eye. It was truly a challenge to stay positive.
Twenty-four years later it was my great fortune to find a doctor, who along with the many modern advances in technology, was able to give some sight back to my once blind eye. Dr. Kerry Assil is not only an amazing ophthalmologist but an incredible man as well. I have the utmost respect for his work and admire his passion and dedication to his profession.
On March 20th I am passionately running for The Assil Sight Fund. It is an amazing charity that does so much for the fight against eye diseases and bringing the enjoyment of sight to the less fortunate. I invite you to visit the website and read more about this wonderful charity. Then please consider sponsoring me in this very worthwhile cause.
