Assistance Needed for Sudanese Family in Pittsburgh
Organized by: Lindsey Myers
THE STORY:
We recently had the opportunity to assist a refugee family from the Sudan. We met them through AJAPO (Acculturation for Justice, Access, and Peace Outreach), a local organization that is doing some amazing things to assist refugee families in the Pittsburgh area. The parents, Ahmed and Nahla, are lovely people, and their eleven month old son Munzir is so sweet and active. After we took them shopping they invited us in to talk and visit. They are still learning English and this is a big barrier for them, but are working hard to support themselves in a new country.
We recently learned from AJAPO that they are in need of financial assistance. Ahmed has been laid off for the summer, and Nahla is starting a new job. Donations will allow them to stay in their current apartment and pay their other bills, as well as buy necessary supplies and food. We are reaching out to all of you in the hopes that you will consider contributing a small monetary donation to assist them. Any little bit will help and be much appreciated by the family. Please also forward this to anyone else you think might be interested in helping.
