Since 2011, more than 4 four million Syrians have been forced out of their home country due to a violent civil war. By August 2015, the UN’s undersecretary general for humanitarian affairs said that more than 250,000 people have been killed. This war has been particularly devastating for children. More than 2 million children are currently living as refugees, with over 8,000 having crossed Syria's border unaccompanied by adults.
Unicef dedicates 90% of every dollar directly toward helping children and has been on the ground since the beginning of the crisis supporting Syrian refugee children in Iraq, Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt and other countries. As a public health nonprofit, ASTHO feels strongly about raising awareness and vital revenue to help Unicef provide necessary vaccinations, access to clean water and education, clothing and psychological support to Syrian children displaced by war. Help us reach or surpass our goal to help protect Syrian children.
