The YMCA afterschool program will be partnering with the Let's Move! Outside Initiative and many public land agencies for two programs that will enhance youth development, promote health and wellness, and inspire environmental stewardship.
During the spring of 2016 students will participate in the 'Get Outdoors' program during spring break from March 28th to April 1st. Student will visit the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge, Tent Rocks, the Rio Grande Nature Center, and La Plazita Gardens to learn about the environment and do service projects.
During the summer, The YMCA summer day camp will participate in the Junior Ranger Program with the National Parks Service during June 27th to July 1st. Student will visit the national park and do educational activities with the park rangers. After student complete the program, students will be sworn in to protect their earth and participate in a service project.
We need funds to make the 'Get Outdoors' and the Junior Ranger Program happen! Funds donated will go to transportation, first aid supplies, and t-shirts for the programs. Thanks for your help.
