BENEFITING: DRESS FOR SUCCESS LEXINGTON INC
EVENT DATE: Jun 11, 2016
Dress for Success Lexington celebrated three years of being approved as a Dress for Success affiliate on April 2nd, 2016. On that same day one of our favorite clients, Bonita Bell, passed away. Many of you may remember Bonita. She lit up the runway and told her story at last year's Recycle the Runway, accompanied by her daughter Tareva Brown. Bonita had an infectious smile, and was a big hugger who had a wonderful spirit and attitude. Our hearts go out to Bonita's family and loved ones.
I feel blessed or destinied to meet all amazing ladies at Dress for Success Lexington, Kentucky. They're my second family in Lexington. Having recently moved into Lexington with certain circumstances, I had no clue where to start finding employment. It was quite bit challenging as I am new with everything: language, culture, weather, food and I don't have many network to get me in to informational references. With almost losing my hope, I met Ms. Analisa Wagoner at Career Workshop. We had a short talk and I applied to one of program "Going Places Networking" with Dress for Success Lexington, KY for 10 weeks. Within 9 weeks now as their client, I don't have any ideas to express in good word that I am grateful. I gain back my confidence, hope, and motivation back! Plus, they gave me useful skills that lead me to more prospective interviews.
In honor of Bonita Bell in the Power Walk:

I would say that your suppport form in this PowerWalk will DO help empower the women in the community, make them self-sufficient in work and life from being unemployed and searching, to recently employed and adjusting, and then gainfully employed and adjusting, and then gainfully employed and succeeding.
