Atelier Salon and Atelier Studio (Santana Row) and Atelier Salon & Barber Shop (Willow Glen) are crowdfunding to reach our goal to raise $11,000 for the Clean Water Fund for Earth Month 2016. We hope you'll help us with a donation of any amount, $5 or more. Is clean water important? Just take a look at what is going on in Flint, Michigan: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flint_water_crisis
This is right here in the U.S., and every water source that we depend on is threatened everyday. We thank you for being a part of the solution, and for your generosity.
Partner Since 2008: The California Clean Water Fund implements campaigns that protect water for future generations by addressing a wide range of problems that impact public health, water quality, affordability, and supply. This year, CWF is focusing on preventing trash and plastics in waterways by encouraging take-out food businesses to reduce disposables and the public to use less packaging. CWF is working to develop policies that provide consumers with information about toxic chemicals used in food and beverage packaging in order to create consumer demand for safer packaging. CWF is continuing to promote mandatory take-back programs for the collection and safe disposal of unused pharmaceuticals in order to reduce pharmaceutical contamination in state waters. To prevent the contamination of drinking water by nitrate and other pollutants, CWF is continuing to advocate for groundwater monitoring and reduction of fertilizer use by farms. In calling for adequate cleanup of contaminated waterways, CWF is pushing for streamlined cleanup plans that ensure levels of PCBs, mercury, dioxins, and other pollutants are low enough that fish can be safely consumed 4 or 5 times per week. CWF continues to seek a moratorium on fracking in California and advocate to end the use of unlined open-air pits for oil drilling wastewater disposal, which threatens drinking water and creates hazardous air pollution.
