I found out I had stage 4 lung cancer on 11/27/12. It was less than a month after my 33rd birthday and I was a single mom. I was given 12-18 months to live. By the Grace of God and funding for research from people like you, I'm still here. And my family grew. This year I now have a husband and stepdaughter. Just another way to show others we can live with lung cancer. We desperately need more funding. One day my drug will quit working and I'll have to find another treatment. I so badly want to watch my girl grow up, graduate high school and college, get married, maybe even be a grandmother! I know there are some of you out there that have lost friends and family to this beast. Let's end the stigma to get more funding. Let's change the face of lung cancer. I just surpassed my 4 year cancerversary. It's been a roller coaster but I will not quit!
