BENEFITING: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IN ATLANTA INC
EVENT DATE: Oct 19, 2013
Who’s feeling nostalgic?! The 1980s was a great decade! It gave us things like Nintendo, Care Bears, Parachute pants, leg warmers, Rubik’s Cubes, Madonna, big hair, and the very first Atlanta Habitat for Humanity house!
Since 1983, Atlanta Habitat has built over 1,250 homes! This October, we are celebrating our 30th Anniversary and we are holding a special-themed ‘80s Build Day!
We are like totally amped for this year’s ‘80s build honoring Atlanta Habitat’s 30th Anniversary. Come out on Saturday, October 19, and help us build an Atlanta Habitat house while sportin’ your most righteous, spiffy ‘80s gear! It’ll be the bomb-diggity!
It’s Easy!! Here’s how it works:
Click on “The Team” near the top of the page and then click "Join the Team." Sign-up for a Crowdrise account and personalize your own page to start fundraising
Make your own gift, and then ask your friends and family to give to your cause! Each individual’s goal is $300, but more is always welcome. Think about it this way: With 10 friends giving just $30 each to commemorate Atlanta Habitat’s anniversary, you’ve reached your goal!
Once you reach your $300 goal, you’ll be invited to volunteer on the build site on Saturday, October 19 with all the other 1980s lovers! We’ll be rocking out to some tubular tunes from the likes of Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, MC Hammer, The B-52s, New Kids on the Block and many more! Parachute pants, side ponytails, neons and leg warmers are most definitely welcomed!
