BENEFITING: PROJECT H20 INC
Drew Burnett has a passion for caring for orphans in Uganda, but he also has a passion for running very long distances. In the summer of 2013, he answered the call to fight for these orphans in a way unlike any other. This summer he attempted to break the speed-record of 46 days 11 hours on the 2185 mile Appalachian Trail. If this doesn't sound crazy enough, he attempted this while following the call to take Sundays off(Isaiah 58:13-14). All this is an attempt to shed light on the orphan crisis in Uganda and to raise $100,000 for the Village of Eden orphanage. A couple weeks into the attempt, the hope of setting a record diminished. But, with that came a new hope, one to overcome all odds throughout the journey by the power of Christ. The journey was full of obstacles to overcome, but with each one developed perserverance. Drew finished the trail in 57 days 9 hours 20 minutes, taking 8 Sundays off. Now that the trail is finished, it's time to make a difference with the children in Uganda! Please consider giving what you can to this campaign to help us reach our goal.
After this attempt, Drew, his wife Amy, and 6 year old son Malachi are planning to spend 3 years living in Uganda. During this time they will be serving with the Village of Eden and caring for orphans in the capacity of in-country orphan care as well as through adoption.
The Burnett's have committed our lives to doing whatever it takes to share the love of Jesus with those in Uganda who can't care for themselves. This will be done through providing for their physical needs as well as their emotional and spiritual needs.
100% of the funding raised through this campaign will be given to the Village of Eden to help provide a caring environment that the children are cared for and all their essential needs met. Most importantly, these children will be raised in an environment in which Jesus Christ is central. Our hope is that these children will carry out the great commission of making disciples of all nations. Matthew 28:19-20
Noah answered the call of God by building an Ark, David answered it by slinging a rock at a giant, Drew ran the Appalachian Trail. Please join in on the call to do something bigger than ourselves.
