Austin Carey Battles Brain Cancer
Organized by: Teresa Greenfield
Austin Carey was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioblastoma on July 9, 2015. He was given 6 months to live, but so far has beaten the odds. His tumor is located on his brain stem, which makes it inoperable. Since his aggressive treatments starting back in August of 2015, his tumor has shrunk. His parents have both recently gotten jobs again but were both out of work until a few weeks ago. A few years back the family lost their youngest child, due to a seizure, so having to deal with Austin’s illness has been extremely difficult to them. Austin's high school, the DeLand High School, has organized fundraisers to assist Austin and his family during these trying times, but they are in need of more support. Our agency is committed to supporting Austin and his family and raising funds to help cover the medical expenses.
