For 26 years, a local non-profit, Austin Smiles, has made an impact in the lives of children and Adults in Austin and various locations in Latin America. Their passion has made it possible to perform 50-75 reconstructive plastic surgeries for those who have been diagnosed with cleft lip and palate. Through their efforts, lives have been forever changed through the gift of a new smile.
Over the past year Dax and Molly have become involved with Austin Smiles and are ready to dedicate an entire week to the non-profits selfless efforts.
From September 27th to October 4th the Austin Smiles volunteers will travel to Puebla, Mexico to perform as many surgeries as possible. The team will consist of both medical and non-medical volunteers.
As non-medical volunteers, Dax, Molly, and others will accompany the medical mission team in a supportive way through: translating, family support, patient intake, family counseling, photographer, blogger, computer and IT needs, database maintenance and many other non-medical tasks. They'll go for the full one-week mission and complement the rest of the medical team.
No volunteer (medical or other) is paid for their services and each volunteer is required to raise a sponsorship fee. This is where WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are looking to raise $2000 ($1000 each) Any funds that exceed that or are not spent will be donated to Austin Smiles. To learn more about Austin Smiles visit their Website www.austinsmiles.org.
Any donations, big or small, are whole heartedly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support!!!
