Autism Service Dog
Organized by: Ayesha Martinez
My son is a 6 year old Non verbal boy with Autism. Although he is 6 he functions at an 2 years old level. He is in great need of an Autism service dog to keep him safe at home, school, and the community. He runs in the street, eats items that are not edible, major meltdowns, and suffers from other medical conditions such as sensory processing disorder, sleep disorder, PICA, and eating disorder. A service dog can be trained to assist my son throughout the day to stay safe, and help guide him since he is non verbal. I have not been able to get a Grant for my son to help pay for the cost of purchasing a service dog. The cost is averaging between 12,000-$15,000. As a mother of two children with Autism I am unable to come up with that amount of money and still provide a roof over our heads. If you would like to donate or direct me to any group or organization that may be able to assist us please let me know. Thank you!
