Autism Soccer League
Organized by: Cory Howerton
My oldest son, Chandler, is an amazing soccer goalkeeper. He works harder than anyone I have ever seen in perfecting his craft, and knows more about the position that most professional goalkeepers I have had the chance to work with. He is also on the Autism spectrum, and has taught me so much over the years about the uniqueness of each child who is on this wide ranging spectrum. It occurred to me that I have the connection and ability to engage the market with a program that will be specifically designed for kids on the spectrum - who see and hear the game differently, communicate with coaches, and teammates in a very unique way. We will be working with various Autism programs across the state of Washington, and the soccer community to design camps and clinics - and leagues - specifically for children with Autism. We anticipate this process to take almost a year before launch, and have concluded in order to do this, we need seed money. This money will be for program development, materials (including materials to market and sell sponsorship to fully support this program long term. This initial fundraising is the "seed" money to help jump start the program. Thank you for your support and helping to spread the word.
