THE STORY:

Raising a child can be challenging and parents often do not get the time for themselves to relax and re-energize themselves. The Autism Society of Oregon launched it's "Take a Break on ASO" program in 2007 for parents with children on the autism spectrum. Since then, ASO has provided over 300 parents and other caregivers with gift certificates to wonderful local restaurants, passes to first-run movies and paid for respite care for their child(ren) - including adult children - on the autism spectrum.

All of the money that I raise will be donated to ASO's "Take a Break" program.

You inspired me to connect my 15-year-old son with a personal trainer here in Michigan. That trainer, who had no experience with autism, currently trains seven ASD teens and has dedicated his business to working with ASD teens. You are changing the world! Right on! 3 years ago
