Autism Speaks - Max's Monsters
Organized by: Courtney Daniels
Did you know that 1 in every 68 children that are born, has autism? If you don't know what Autism is, it's a complex disorder of brain development. My cousin max, was diagnosed with ASD at a young age. Since autism is in my family, I am a strong believer in bringing awareness to the Autism Speaks Charity to help fund research, and to make a difference for those who are diagnosed with ASD. Each year for the Walk Now For Autism Speaks Charity, we get a team together called Max's Monsters (Monsters Inc. theme). Our team's focus is to bring in funds and awareness for this cause, but also having FUN while doing it! It's a day full of activities for the kids, 5k walk with all the teams, lots of food, contests for team involvement and so much more. We enjoy doing this each year not only to help make a difference, but because someone we love has autism. We only want the BEST research and the BEST programs out there for those who have ASD, and without teams gathering donations and spreading the word, change won't happen as quickly. With that being said, our walk is Saturday September 26th at Liberty Station in San Diego. Our team's goal is $3,000. All proceeds made will go towards the Autism Speaks Charity. Help the Max's Monsters Team help others by donating to this amazing charity!
