The Aveda Institute Columbus, located on the campus of The Ohio State University, seeks to raise $40,000 to benefit the Sierra Club's Central Ohio Clean Water Campaign. The Central Ohio Clean Water Campaign advocates for solutions to prevent sewer overflows and polluted storm water runoff, working locally to protect the Olentangy and Scioto Rivers.
Aveda's 2013 Earth Month campaign will inspire its network of beauty professionals and consumers in more than 30 countries to raise $5 million for the protection of clean water. Aveda professionals have collectively raised more than $26 million in support of Earth Month since the campaign's inception in 1999. Beginning in 2007, Aveda has donated Earth Month proceeds to organizations working to combat the clean water crisis - to date more than $20 million have been directed to support hundreds of clean water projects on six continents.
