My father was a Vietnam veteran fighting for what he believed in. His fellow officers use to call him corn flake because he could never tell a joke properly. He had lost many friends and a brother to the war. With not much of a support group left at home he managed to meet his soon to be wife of 42 years and had 3 daughters and a son together. As my father reaches his retirement age he has run into some health issues. In December of 2014 he had to have emergency Triple bypass surgery which went well despite the long recovery time. Now in December of 2015 my father was diagnosed with esophageal and stomach cancer. As per his insurance company he would of needed to be back at work at least a full year for them to cover his medical expenses. He was given 4 weeks of some medicals bills covered!! As a daughter, knowing my dad risked his life not knowing if he could ever have a family in order to save the life of others, it just warms my heart. Please help my father not worry about the financial burden of cancer but allow this veteran to focus and fight for a cure for his family and everyone else who is going through it. #cornflake
