Organized by: Samira Ardalan
Event Name: Women Startup Challenge
The Avicenna Cuisine food and health system is a tech-fresh food experience inspired by the four elements of which everything in this world is composed: air, fire, water, and earth and the elemental qualities of hot, cold, wet and dry. Within a person these elements are known as the humours. There are specifically recommended foods and drinks to maintain balance within our bodies. Therefore, it is important to know our temperament or nature in order to nurture it with food with the proper qualities. The money raised will go towards building an Avicenna Cuisine app and tech and fresh food experience.
Take your temperament test on our Avicenna Cuisine app, the basis of the fundraiser, to discover what foods and drinks you should be eating! While you're on the app, find out what menu items you can eat from our restaurant that suits you best, then place your order for pick-up! The app will also include health benefits and natural healing properties of the ingredients so you can truly begin to understand what you're putting into your body and how it can heal you and prevent illness.
Who was Avicenna?
Avicenna is the Latinized name for Ibn Sina. He was arguably the most significant physician of the Middle Ages as well as being an influential voice of the pre-modern era of medicine. While basing his medical system on those of Hippocrates and Galen, Avicenna’s writing in his Canon of Medicine took a universal perspective, collecting, distilling and synthesizing all the medical knowledge that existed at his time, including different medical systems from India (Aryuvedic), Chinese, Greek (Unani), Persian, Egyptian, Hindu and Tibetan.
