BENEFITING: ALTERNATIVES TO VIOLENCE PROJECT INC
EVENT DATE: Jul 07, 2015
Objective: Stop bullying and prevent incarceration, especially among immigrant teens by learning and practicing non-violent conflict resolution techniques. Initial 2 week camp, plus follow up for a year, for 8th-10th graders in Morris and Union Counties, NJ. Use proven lessons from the Alternatives to Violence Project training. Dates in 2015: 7/27-8/6 in Chatham, NJ.
Train potential student leaders who encounter violence in their lives and want to stop it. Follow up, mentoring and leadership opportunities for at least a year.
Volunteer facilitators are in place. Money is needed for food, materials, transportation and activities.
