As many as 70 million Americans suffer from poor sleep. The conventional, clinical approach to sleep assessment is a sleep lab study, which is expensive and not representative of normal sleep environment in the home. Over the past 2 decades, evidence that chronic sleep disturbance is associated with mood disorder, impaired immune function, cognitive decline, metabolic syndrome-obesity-diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer has steadily accumulated. This issue is even more striking in the vulnerable pediatric population. It is estimated that 1 in 10 school age children suffer from a chronic sleep problem that impacts their school performance, physical, social and emotional behavior.
Awarables was founded in late 2013 to address this gap in healthcare by developing a sleep management platform that focuses on personalized sleep health. Awarables' miniature Sleep Recorder and software empower customers to take control of their sleep quality by recording sleep over extended periods of time, providing in-depth insights into their sleep quality with intuitive metrics and analytics, and then accompanying them through their journey of sleep and performance growth via coaching, behavior modification and tangible analytical feedback. The clinically relevant data is shared with the clinician to develop an individualized plan for improving your sleep health.
