This fall, we are helping one of our favorite local non-profits become #twiceaspowerful and we need your help. About-Face is an awesome organization that works with Bay Area teens to give them the tools to understand harmful media messages and develop healthy body image and self-esteem.
The Associate Board is comprised of an amazing team of indviduals who work on fundraisers, action events, and merchandise. We meet monthly and share ideas with each other, and just generally have a good time stimulating each other to make About-Face as awesome as possible.
If we can raise $20,000 by September 25, our gifts will be DOUBLED dollar for dollar, and About-Face will have another $40,000 for our powerful school media-literacy programs. Will you support me by taking a few minutes to share and give $5, $10, even $20?
In 2015, we helped About-Face reach about 1,200 students with our fun, engaging brand of media literacy that improves self-esteem, body image, and ability to question media even after our classes. And our survey results show that it's working. This year, we want to reach 2,400 students in the Bay Area this semester, and have already worked with 800! Help us reach another 1,600 young women and men whose schools otherwise can't afford this crucial media-literacy training.
Here's who has pledged to match the $20,000 you help us raise:
