Baby Joshua Medical
Organized by: Robert Hurtado
Thank you for visiting baby Joshua's page. On Sunday June 19th, a beautiful, baby boy unexpectedly arrived in Las Vegas, NV. This baby boy made his way into the world at just 30 weeks old to two same sex couple parents and a big sister age 1. Daddy 1 is a military Vetran and now works in law enforcement. Daddy 2 works as a regional manager for a retail store. At birth- 30 weeks old, Baby Joshua weighed 4lb 1.5oz and was only 12.5" long (about the size of a small baby doll) . In the New Born Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at University Medical Center, it has been determined that the baby has lung and kidney function. He is currently breathing with the assistance of mechanical ventilators used to deliver warm and humidified air into his lungs and receiving nutrients and fluid intravenously. Baby Joshua has been protected by an incubator which has kept him warm and free from germs and noise. Baby Joshua, as well as the family, have a long journey ahead of them in their fight to grow, develop, and become strong and healthy. Our goal is to alleviate as much burden on the family as possible, allowing them time to focus solely on there baby. The family is from San Diego Ca and they have to travel back and forth to Nevada to be with the baby. As with most hospital stays, the NICU will be very costly and at the current estimate, baby Joshua will be there awhile fighting for health and life. In speaking with family and friends, we feel the best way to offer support is through constant thoughts or prayers and any donation you can give to help cover some of the financial obligations that lie ahead. No amount is too little and everything is appreciated. You can donate with your name, organization or even be annonymous.
