Judi Balisciano wrote -A young puppy, now named Elisa, had an extremely hard time her first two months of life. She was found crying in a field behind a busy store and brought temporarily to safety. FFGRR was notified and the rescue quickly swept her into their care. This poor young puppy has a medical condition called Puppy Strangles (a condition which can be deadly if not treated quickly). She was in her wonderful foster home when she started vomiting. She was brought to an emergency veterinarian where they started pumping her with fluids. The following day, she started vomiting again and this time was diagnosed with full-blown parvovirus in addition to the already diagnosed Puppy Strangles. Parvovirus is very serious and often fatal for puppies. With all her compromised immune system, it became a battle of life and death for Elisa. She fought hard to stay alive and so far has succeeded . Because of the medical needs and needing to stay in isolation for several days with private care, her vet bills are escalating rapidly. Her prognosis is pretty good although it will take several months of treatment to get her on to full recovery. Forever Friends is dedicated to doing everything possible to make sure she has a chance for a fun puppyhood. Can you please find it in your heart to donate whatever you can to give this little girl a chance?
Thank-you so much!
