BENEFITING: BOSTON CRUSADERS DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS INC
EVENT: Crusaders California Dreams
EVENT DATE: Mar 30, 2012
Marching in the Boston Crusader the summer of 1985 was truly a life changing experience for me. I instantly increased the size of my family by 85 people and created memories that I will cheerish for the rest of my life. Had I not marched in drum corps (Suburbanettes, Valley Airs, then Crusaders) I know I would never have been afforded the opportunity to travel like I did or to learn life skills like dedication, perseverance and the pursuit of perfection.
I will never forget DCI Championships where we received a standing ovation -- from off the line -- as the corps teased the crowd with strains of Conquest. The rush from performing is one I will never forget.
Even though the corps has been around for over 70 years, and the activity has changed, today's members still share the same feelings I had some 25+ years ago. When Olivia B, a current member, was asked why she marches with the Boston Crusader she responded, “Because I love the family I've discovered. Because nothing is more satisfying than slamming into a parade rest at the end of a show. Because I am a Crusader, and nothing less.”
I want to carry on the tradition of drum corps for many generations to come and need your help! Today I am reaching out to family, friends, and alumni asking for your support. Your donation will fund instrument purchases, uniform repairs, equipment truck improvements and offset touring expenses (Boston's first ever West Coast tour) so marching members can remain highly competitive.
Please CLICK THE DONATE BUTTON and make a tax-deductible donation to the Boston Crusaders (consider joining the Crusader Club for its perks)!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
