BENEFITING: AMBASSADOR PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Dear Friends, Did you know that every year 1.2 million children are sold into sexual slavery? That amounts to 3,040 children being trafficked in this deplorable industry every day – one child every 26 seconds! By the time you finish reading this, at least one more child will be sold. When I hear statistics like these, I am grieved, and I find myself asking God what I can do to help.
I’m excited to tell you that God has provided me an answer! Remember Nhu operates 65 children’s homes of refuge in 12 countries and later this year, I will be visiting three of these homes in West Africa so that I can answer God’s call to serve these precious children and point them to the amazing grace and love of Jesus Christ.
The plan is to travel to West Africa from December 30 (2016) through January 10 (2017) with six other members of my church, Ambassador Presbyterian in Apex, NC to lead a New Life Camp with Remember Nhu’s Director of Spiritual Development. Our goal is to help the children grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus while developing and nurturing lasting, meaningful relationships with them.
This is a great opportunity and I am thankful to God for preparing the way for me to go. This will be my fourth trip to West Africa in the last two-and-a-half years, and the second time I’ll be leading a team of people from my church. While my trips are usually focused on training indigenous pastors, and nurturing and developing ministry partnerships, I’m excited that I will be able to invest a good portion of my time in this vital ministry to the children of this country that is dear to my heart. I’m also eagerly anticipating seeing the young girl that my family sponsors through Remember Nhu, once again. While I look forward to being with pastors and partners and doing some limited teaching and preaching, it is my hope that God will use this trip to broaden my view of the ministry opportunities available in this country and to confirm the ever-growing call on my heart to do ministry there.
To make this trip a reality I need to raise around $2,500. I also need folks to pray with and for me as I prepare to go and while I am there serving. Will you consider partnering with me in either or both ways? Please note that all contributions are tax deductible if using the link in the right column, and any amount I raise above my individual needs will go towards the other material needs of our team and to the ministry of Remember Nhu in West Africa. Crowdrise will also take a small percentage of your donation here as a transaction fee, and I assure you that I'll make up that difference. Thank you for your continued love and support for me. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Blessings to you in Christ Jesus,
