BENEFITING: Back on My Feet
ORGANIZER: Back on My Feet
On November 6, 2011, I am running the New York City Marathon. This is my first marathon and I am in hardest stage of my 16 week training program. Please join me as train for the marathon while supporting a charity that I truly feel makes a difference. As a runner, I believe strongly in the physical and emotional benefits of the sport. That’s why I support Back on My Feet, an organization that empowers homeless people to turn their lives around through running. The idea is that giving people a goal they can accomplish allows them to regain their confidence, self esteem and believe in themselves again. Every time they go out and run, they earn credits toward job training and education. With the economy where it is, we’re all suffering to some degree. We have to keep in mind the blessings we do have, and make sure we give back and pay it forward. If you would like to back my run, and give a donation to Back on My Feet, any donation, however small or large, would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, I dedicate this run to Errin Vuley, who inspired me to run my first half marathon, while I raised funds to honor her life, a life dedicated to advocacy and community outreach.
