Bailie's 65 Days in Haiti
Organized by: Bailie O'Connell
As many of you already know, I will be traveling to Haiti again this summer with 1013 Missions! Last summer, I was absolutely privileged to be given the opportunity to spend six weeks at One Family Foundation in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti as part of an immersion experience through 1013 Missions. In my time there, I learned about One Family, about the culture and history of Haiti, and formed relationships with countless individuals who played a role in showing me the daily rejoices and struggles of Haitians. This summer’s trip will be different because I have been asked to be an apprentice and learn how to guide other young people through the life-altering experience I had and determine how they can serve God through mission work. In addition to the 40-day immersion experience with a small team, I will be spending 25 extra days in Haiti in order to continue to learn and determine how missions could fit into my future. I have only scratched the surface with all there is to learn about Haitians and the country they call home, and I am eager to continue learning with this opportunity. If you are interested in supporting me, you can in two ways. First, and most importantly, through prayer (especially the last 25 days, when I will be there without a constant team!). Second, through financial donations. I am still in the process of fundraising and would love to babysit, house sit, paint your house, (really, anything) in exchange for donations to make this trip possible. Message or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in supporting my team and I in any way!
