Shawn Simons' Fundraiser:

In January 2010 the city of Los Angeles was served with an injunction regarding Trap Neuter Release (TNR). TNR is the only humane way to work ourselves out of the cat overpopulation problem. It consists of trapping stray or feral cats, having them neutered (they get an ear tip as a sign they have been fixed) and then releasing them back into their colony.
The Audubon Society (yes, bird lovers) felt that letting these furry friends live would place an undue burden on the birds. Clearly not having faith in their flying friends, they sued the city and demanded that the city stop paying for, and worse, discussing, counseling or referring people to TNR.
What does it mean if the city can't do TNR? It means EVER feral cat that is brought into Animal Services is killed. I don't use the term, put down, or even euthanized, as they are killed. Please take a look at the photos on my page. All feral cats. Sweet and scared, furry and fixed and all deserving of life!
The City of LA spent $280,000 on feral cat TNR last year. I am raising funds for KITTY BUNGALOW: CHARM SCHOOL FOR WAYWARD CATS, to help fill this TNR gap. All funds raised for BALL BUSTERS for Kitty Bungalow, a 501c3 non-profit, will go towards the TNR of stray and feral cats, and to the reversing of the injunction.
