BENEFITING: Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation
EVENT DATE: Apr 07, 2013
"Balls 2 the Wall" is Triangle Fraternity's 1st annual philanthropy event, and it's first event held in nearly 15 years. The ladies of Zeta Tau Alpha will also be co-sponsoring this event with us. It is an indoor volleyball tournament held between Purdue's fraternities, sororities, and co-ops.
The Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation was formed October of 2009 with the mission of educating young men on the importance of early detection, and supporting those who are affected by this disease. This is the leading cancer in men 15-35, yet it's hardly talked about. When found early, it has a survival rate of over 95%. Early detection is as simple as a monthly testicular self-exam.
Supporting Triangle's "Balls 2 the Wall" Volleyball tournament will help fund TCAF's education program, which includes going into schools and teaching young men about the importance of monthly self exams along with providing grants to families in immediate need. Every hour a young man is diagnosed and every day a life is lost due to lack of awareness.
So "give us a hand" in raising testicular cancer awareness!
