BENEFITING: Brooklyn Academy of Music
ORGANIZER: Brooklyn Academy of Music
EVENT: BAM 24-Hour Movie Marathon
EVENT DATE: Sep 05, 2014
For the last four weeks I have been following a carefully modulated interval training regimen of binge Netflix watching, eye exercises, cat naps while sitting up, and weekly movie theater outings in preparation for September 5th & 6th when I will be testing my movie endurance at the BAM 24-Hour Movie Marathon! Actually, this is just a ramp up form my normal life--I've secretly been training for this marathon all my life https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeDRxtl1hBg
Please support my attempt to stay awake by donating to a fantastic cause. BAM is an incredible arts organization and every dollar we raise will help give kids greater access to the amazing performances, movies, after-school programs, and workshops that BAM offers. Just $25 helps get one kid involved in Arts & Justice, a free after-school program in which high school students create original theater works about social justice issues.
On top of all that, the participants that raise the most money also have an opportunity to win fantastic prizes, like a whitewater rapids trip to Colorado and a roundtrip flight anywhere in the US!
And the movies include:
Science: Jurassic Park
Drivers Ed: The Big Lebowski
Dance: Step Up 3D
Music:The Umbrellas of Cherbourg
History: Raiders of the Lost Ark
Ethics: Do the Right Thing
Art: An American in Paris – Introduced by Taylor Schilling
English: Clueless – Introduced by Ellen Halley Feiffer
School's Out!: Dazed and Confused
So please support me as I support BAM's initiative to make arts education accessible to the kids of New York City! Every little bit helps.
Thank you for your generosity.
