Story time. So back in October last year, I decided to join Team Save the Children for the Shamrock Shuffle (coming up on April 2nd). I haven't said anything until now since my health has been awful these past few months and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to run. But I've decided to go ahead and try.
"Christine, you're sick and you hate running." Yes, that's true. But I'm doing this for refugee children who've lost more than we could ever fathom. No child should have to starve, suffer from curable diseases, or watch their parents be killed. I'm doing this so they can have a safe place to live, food, clothing, and education. These things are so simple, yet they are luxuries in a war-torn world.
Save the Children is an organization that saves countless lives every day in the US and around the world by providing children with food assistance, medical care, education, and disaster relief assistance. It's exciting work they're doing. Please please consider donating to save these kids.
Get this: -$150 can help provide 3 goats to families in need.
-$200 can help provide ready-to-use food to help save malnourished children.
-$300 can help provide healthcare essentials to a school clinic serving hundreds of children in 35 schools
I've set my sights on raising $200 through running this race. Anything you can give really makes a difference. Please join me in prayer for these children. My heart cries out for them and each of their precious lives.
