BENEFITING: Adult Congenital Heart Association Inc
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
As many of you know I was born with a congenital heart defect called tetralogy of fallot. I was fortunate to have had an excellent repair at the age of 3 and I am lucky to have access to exceptional care providers who are knowledgeable about the unique needs of adults born with congenital heart disease. Because I still require ongoing surveillance and care I learned about The Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA). ACHA is a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life and extend the lives of adults with congenital heart defects. Through education, outreach, advocacy, and promotion of research, ACHA serves and supports the more than one million adults with congenital heart defects, their families and the medical community.
After months of training we were unable to complete the 2012 NYC Marathon due to Superstorm Sandy. We have again trained very hard and taken time away from our families to finish what we've started. Now more than ever we need your support to motivate us to complete our last two weeks of training and the 2013 NYC Marathon.
A very special thank you to all of you who supported us last year by donating to ACHA or for your words of encouragement after the race was canceled. It meant so much to us! Please donate if you can. If not, please think of us on November 3rd track us or come out and cheer us on!
