Barrington High School Robotics Team
Organized by: Kelly Henry
We are an FTC Robotics Team that needs your help to raise money in order to fund the building of our robot for this year's competition. FTC stands for First Tech Challenge sponsored by FIRST Robotics. Each year, over 100,000 students participate in this competition. In the First Tech Challenge, students get to design, build, and program robots using real-world math and science concepts. This year, the challenge is called Cascade Effect. The Cascade Effect requires us to build a robot under 18 x 18 x 18 inch requirements to extend to 35 inches of tube, place a ball into the holding device, and retract down. This is no simple task, but our designer was able to make a plan to extend our robot this distance and perform these procedures. Sadly, parts for robots are getting more and more expensive and since we do not have the proper funds, we will not succeed. Our overall goal for this year in robotics is to present our robot to an assortment of high-end engineering companies and learn important qualities such as leadership and responsibility. With your help, we will be able to successfully achieve these goals and bring our project to the next level.
