BENEFITING: Play Global
Help us give Israeli children from Arab and Jewish communities a chance to come together through baseball.
Though they may be divided by culture, religion and language, these boys and girls can have a chance to have fun together and form friendships on the baseball field. Learning a new sport helps them to see past their differences and respect each other. This is the first event of its kind in Israel.
Play Global and the Israel Association of Baseball are working together on a program called Baseball Le'Kulam, meaning Baseball for All.
"Although we came from different cultures and we speak different languages, we are just kids that want to play baseball together." - Baseball Le'Kulam participant, grade 6
Baseball Le'Kulam doesn't aim to solve any political issues. Instead, we want to give kids from Arab and Jewish communities a chance to know each other and find common ground.
The first overnight Baseball Le'Kulam clinic was in March 2015. Thirty sixth grade children participated. Most of them had never before made a friend from the other cultural group. The same group is planning to return for two more weekend clinics for this year, in June and October. But we need your help to make it happen. Your donation will allow Play Global to send coaches and lead the program, and it will help cover the cost of housing, equipment and food for participating kids.
Please support Play Global and Baseball Le'Kulam with your donation in any amount.
Thanks for being on our team!
