250,000 deaths occur annually due to cervical cancer- an entirely preventable disease. It is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women worldwide, with greater than 85% of these cases occurring in developing countries.
BHI's mission is to eradicate cervical cancer globally. We pioneered the world's first and largest public sector implementation of a low cost HPV test and we are screening 30,000 women to confirm its accuracy in indentifying women with high risk HPV.
In addition, BHI has obtained NIH funding to spearhead an innovative therapy which has the potential to bring affordable and portable treatment to women living in remote areas who have little or no access to health care. Combining a low cost, accessible screening test with a novel, affordable and portable treatment places BHI on the forefront of global cervical cancer research.
BHI can screen, treat, and cure this disease. With your help, we can live in a world where no woman dies from cervical cancer.
