BATAC 48 HOURS ENDURANCE RUN. A FRUIT TREE IN EVERY HOME.
Organized by: Gerald Odocayen
EVENT DATE Mar 28, 2016
BATAC 48 HOURS ENDURANCE CHALLENGE. A FRUIT TREE IN EVERY HOME.
My dearest family, friends, town mates/Bataceños, colleagues, fellow runners, athletes, sports enthusiasts, acquintances, ladies, gentlemen and children, Good day!
May the light shine on everybody on this day and all the days to come! I would like to introduce myself; I am a local and currently reside in Chula Vista, a city in sunny San Diego County, California. I grew up early half of my life in Batac City Ilocos Norte, Philippines. I am an adventurer, nature lover and an endurance athlete, so yes I love vast lands, mountains, trees and fresh air, anything that relates to my childhood. Anything that gets my hands in dirt.
I would like to invite you to this two day journey, a 48 hour endurance challenge, a run around town. A project, non-profit group that was brought together by family and friends worldwide as a fundraiser that would benefit everybody far and near. Let us come together to make it greener, bring colors to our planet, Mother Earth, as she is, if not more important as those, us and other living creatures that live in it.
In this event shall we create an awareness towards healing her, to "PLANT A FRUIT TREE IN EVERY HOME" in my/our beloved hometown of Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Variety of fruit trees for you, fresh air to breath, for our kids and their children, to bring shade to play under, a trunk to climb on, a branch to attach a swing to, savor the sweet fruit it yields and provide shelter for smaller creatures that play a crucial role in our ecosystem. An investment for all of us.
I will personally run this event for the given time of 48 hours to raise US$2,000.000 to purchase trees(seedlings) to provide and distribute to our homes (hoping all) in this beloved town of ours. As it is a worldwide fundraising, currencies will vary. The run will take place on 03/28/16@0600 and finish on 03/30/16@0600.
The customized route will consist of the Batacs' distinct loop(Bantay Batac); From our beloved family home(Odocayen residence)-Batac town Market-Bantay Batac-MMMH(Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital)-Batac crossing-Rear side/part of MMES(Mariano Marcos Elementary School) via Eureka HS Rd-Dr.Feril pass-HOME then reapeat for 48 hours. Our home will be the start and finish, aid/nap/sleep station but I will routinely break the given course for boredom sake, not limited to all directions around town.
If you are around the area, please feel free to join, run or bike and accompany the group through the time, wether at my home or on the road. We will surely need someone to talk to or just simply be there through the day, to pass on the news, spread the cause, someone to laugh with through the night and under the heat of summer.
GREENER EARTH IS A CLEANER EARTH! IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. IT'S CALLED TREE PLANTING. LET'S LAUNCH INTO THE BEST OF TOMORROW.
Below are two accounts wherein the fundsraiser can be directed to. Please take the moment, follow us on FB about and on updates, amounts raised, whereabouts/distance/milieage(I will rely on my Garmin 910xt to record the coverage/distance) and status of everybody and anybody participating the fundraiser. Once amounts are tallied, we will directly purchase seedlings from local or major nurseries from the area.
North America will be under CROWDRISE and will automatically take 1% of amounts raised for tax purposes. So yes, it is tax deductable.
