SAGINAW VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY wrote -THE STORY: For 14 consecutive years, students from Saginaw Valley State University and Grand Valley State University have seized the interest in the schools’ football rivalry and competed in a charitable fundraising competition known as “Battle of the Valleys." Together the two schools have raised over half a million dollars for Michigan charities, with SVSU raising slightly over $331,000 in total. The Cardinals have claimed the Victoria trophy the past eight Battles, and have outraised GVSU in 10 of the 13 total competitions. Hidden Harvest will be SVSU's charitable benefactor partner for the 14th annual “Battle of the Valleys” fundraising competition. Hidden Harvest strives to alleviate hunger and end food waste in the Bay, Midland, and Saginaw region.
