The Bay Area Black Worker Center is a vital addition to workers and movement activity in the Bay. Please help me to raise my goal of $3,000 for the Bay Area Black Worker Center. For 24 years I have worked with amazing labor and community organizations fighting for economic and racial justice. I could not be happier to now be able to bring those lessons learned and experience to support growing a strong organization centered on growing a strong base of Black workers ready to fight.
In a short period of time, we are already making a difference through our work with partners in the Justice Reinvestment Coalition to support the creation of a new re-entry employment program that will affirmatively hire people with felony convictions into good jobs. I hope you will contribute today to support our work to advance racial and economic justice.
As I look at the current national landscape, the rise of white supremacists to the highest positions of power, billionaires ready to dismantle workers rights and public institutions that serve our communities- I know that our work is needed more than ever!
Organizing is about more than winning campaigns; it’s about the transformation from accepting what is to reimagining what could be and working collectively towards that vision. I am excited about the vision we are building at the Bay Area Black Worker Center to end mass incarceration, low wages and racial discrimination in hiring. Please give as generously as you can so that we can advance our work and I can reach my goal of $3,000.
