EVENT: Bay State Games Boston 2017
EVENT DATE: Apr 17, 2017
In recent years, as I have become a more active long-distance runner, I have had the desire to run not just any marathon but the Boston Marathon. Now, I have been afforded the opportunity to run for the Bay State Games.
Sports have had such a positive impact on me throughout my life. From dance to the track and eventually collegiate teams, sports have taught me teamwork, accountability, dedication and hard work. To run for a charity which promotes health, fitness and education through athletics gives me great pride as athletics have been such an important part of my life, and I believe should be accessible to people of all ages. And, as a resident of Massachusetts, I take great pride in running for a local charity that helps provide athletic and other programs to the people of Massachusetts.
I am honored to have the opportunity to run the 2017 Boston Marathon for the Bay State Games. This will not be an easy journey but I am willing, eager and excited to do what it takes to complete my first full marathon. Please help me reach my fundraising goal of $7,500 for the Bay State Games Marathon Fundraising Team.
