THE STORY:

Tara Scarioni wrote -

THE RACE:
I'm back and ready to fundraise for my girl Moreen! On May 20, 2012 I will be traveling home to participate in the Bay to Breakers Race. On the same day Moreen will be running an equivalent distance on the Daraja Campus in Kenya. Last year we had 77 runners and this year we have 150 runners racing in Bay to Breakers for the Daraja girls.

MOREEN:
Moreen is now a second year student and is taking advantage of every opportunity that Daraja presents to her. She is passionate about science, the environment and sustainability methods that she is learning and able to teach her family and village.

DARAJA:
Join me and the Daraja Academy and help empower young women to change the world! Nike's Girl Effect has recognized Daraja as one of the most effective and innovative organizations focused on conquering gender inequality in the world. Founded by a local, Bay Area couple, Daraja is a unique boarding secondary school for Kenyan girls with top academic ability and exceptional leaderships skills but no means to continue their education. Your donation of any size will help keep these girls in school, which will greatly change their lives.
