Berean Community Center aims to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in the community. Our youth program, Hunt for Success, was named in memory of Charles B. Hunt, Esq., a young attorney and humble servant to the community. Charles' passion for service and the encouragement of success for young people influences the work we do with youth in the community today.
Every August we host the Read, Write, Run 5K and Back to School Bash - a community celebration to inspire children and their families to have a healthy, well-balanced and successful school year. The objectives of these events are:
1. to encourage members of the community to engage in a healthy and active lifestyle
2. raise awareness of the importance of access to tools that promote literacy for all children
The proceeds from the 5K, with help from community sponsors and donations to the Charles B. Hunt Backpack Drive, enabled us to give away over 300 L.L.Bean backpacks filled with school supplies to kids of the community at the Back-to-School Bash last year.
With help from donors like you, we can meet our goal of providing 400 backpacks to students of all ages this year and continue building Hunt for Success to provide tutoring, mentorship, and life skills programs for youth.
