Why I am running
April 07, 2018
BENEFITING: The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
ORGANIZER: The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
EVENT DATE: Apr 28, 2018
I am training for the Illinois Half-Marathon in Champain-Urbana on April 28th and have decided to run this race in support of women's health. I am running in honor of two beautiful strong women: Jenny (my cousin's wife) & Linawati (our exchange student's mother in Indonesia). If you can, please help me with a donation to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation so that I can reach my fundraising goal of $100.
Welcome to Team BCRF!
When you run in a Christie Clinic Illinois race with Team BCRF, you will join a powerful movement – a great community united to eradicate this deadly disease for good. By taking on the race of your choice, your commitment will give our researchers the tools they need to make the next breakthrough, advance scientific innovation and save lives.
Team BCRF is diverse. We are survivors, family members, employees, supporters, allies, professionals, runners, non-runners, and even researchers. But what we have in common is one thing: the desire and dedication to do our part to help bring about a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime. For over 20 years, BCRF-funded researchers have been at the forefront of nearly every significant breakthrough in understanding, preventing and treating the disease. We know that the answers continue to lie in science, and that the only thing standing in the way is research funding.
When you join our team, you are committing to fundraise to fuel lifesaving research in all facets of the disease including breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. Every donation makes a difference, no matter how small or large, and we will work with you along the way so that together, we can accelerate progress and be the end of breast cancer.
Join us by Becoming a Fundraiser or Making a Donation. By committing 91 cents of every dollar directly to its mission, BCRF is one of the nation’s most fiscally responsible nonprofits and the largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide. Every dollar donated counts—just $25 funds a researcher for half an hour and truly makes a difference in someone’s life.
