A picture of my mother and I October 23, 1971

Welcome to my B Cured fundraising page. This year on May 7th I will ride 40 miles in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour through New York City, raising money for a charity that has a lot of meaning for me.
A few years ago I had the good fortune of being introduced to B Cured through some of it's founding members. They were training for the NYC Marathon and could use my assistance. Some were truly seasoned marathoners and others, well..........not so much. Regardless, they all finished impressively. More impressive is why they ran. All of them have been touched by brain cancer. They were either battling it themselves or had a family member stricken by it.
LIke many of them I lost my mother to a primary glioblastoma. Sophia Theresia Nathanson left us in May 2008. In the past years I have raised money in her honor for several cancer fighting organizations, but never one as focused like B Cured.
Over the past 5 years B Cured has raised over 1.5 million dollars and funded over 20 grants. I hope you will join me as I honor the memory of my mother and those family members lost by others.
Be part of this fight, together we can make a difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

On the first Sunday in May 2017, 32,000 cyclists of all skill levels come from around the world to roll through every borough of New York City on streets totally free of cars. For one day, the roads are yours, the bridges are yours, the City is yours—there’s no better way to experience the Big Apple. B*CURED is excited to have ten spots in the TD 5 Boro Bike Tour. B*CURED's mission is to end brain cancer. In the nine years since it began, the all volunteer organization has awarded 20 research grants and raised over $1.5 million dollars.
