Some 60 million children living in rural India without electricity have difficulty getting an education and rising out of poverty because they cannot study at night.
They work hard and diligently at school during the day but when they come home in the evening they have no light to study and their education suffers. Their best chance of a life beyond poverty is eliminated.
The Problem is Clear: No Electricity = No Homework = Poor Education = Limited Opportunity = Stuck in Poverty!!!
Our Solution: Portable Solar Lamps Solar lamps let these kids study at night.
Our goal is to provide 10,000 lamps to children in Arunachal Pradesh in far northeast India, one of the poorest areas.
In this phase we need $15,000 to cover the costs of getting the first 1400+ lamps to the kids. Work is already underway to give the first of these lamps to over 200 students from the villages of Danglat and Tafrogamm in the Lohit District of Arunachal Pradesh. Our minimum goal is $15,000 BUT the need is much larger!
We need your help to reach $85,000 so all 10,000 kids can have a lamp. You can support the project in two easy steps:
Donate any amount (every donation is ensuring a healthy and happy future to kids in need)
- Giving $10 puts a light in ONE child’s hands.
- With $20 you can DOUBLE your impact!
- $50 provides FIVE kids each a lamp!
- $1000 gives a lamp to ALL the children in an ENTIRE SCHOOL.
