Beat down Joanna's Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma Bills!!
Organized by: Angie Kawa-Luzaki
Joanna is a tiny 24 year old with a huge heart. This last year she has had her life completely turned upside down by a cancer so rare only 1 in a million are diagnosed. Only about 20 people per year are diagnosed with Epitheliod Hemangioendothelioma, a vascular cancer that affects the veins in your arms and legs and your liver and lungs. Because of its rarity there is no treatment. Joannas only hope is discovery of a cure so she offers herself up as a guinea pig for the sake of helping future patients. Last year she traveled to Boston monthly to participate in a study that left her constantly physically ill and financially ruined. This year is more of the same. Joanna is a vibrant woman who has dreams of traveling and experiencing new adventures on her motorcycle, but all of her money is tied up in paying medical bills and "feel good" days are few and far between. Despite all this she remains positive and hopeful for the future. She has always been there for her friends so as one of them Id like to find a way to be there for her. I would like to raise enough money for her to pay some of her medical and transportation bills and maybe take a few mini-adventures with her friends and family.
