BENEFITING: Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
In March, after a routine mammogram, I learned that I had breast cancer. In early April, my surgeon--Dr. Elisa Port of Mt Sinai Hospital's Dubin Breast Center--scheduled a lumpectomy, for April 16th. But shortly before that date my BRCA-test results came back: positive. On April 16, instead of a simple lumpectomy, I had a bilateral mastectomy. And I'm still undergoing breast reconstruction. None of which will stop me from running the Marathon on Nov. 3 in celebration of my recovery--and of the Dubin Breast Center's starring role in insuring that recovery. Please consider donating to my cause!
