Help us replace our car
Organized by: James Beaudry
Just one month ago, my wife and I welcomed our first child into this world. As new parents, we have stepped out on faith, and made the decision to live on one-income so my wife can raise our child full-time. Naturally, living on one-income has it's challenges, and money is always tight. Some of these challenges can be completely unexpected, and put an extra strain on our finances.
This Wednesday night, as I was pulling into my drive way from work, I heard a *POP*, and my car stopped in it's tracks. Immediately I saw smoke from the hood, and I heard a sizzling and crackling noise. I jumped out of the front seat, looked under the front of my car, and there were tiny flames dripping to the ground. I immediately ran to my house, and called 911 as my family and I watched our car become engulfed in smoke and flame.
As I watched my car continue to burn, thoughts began to race through my mind about how we are going to be able to purchase a new car for me to make my hour long commute to work everyday. We only had basic coverage with our insurance plan, and they would not pay a dime for any of the damages.
After the smoke cleared (literally and figuratively) I began to go over our options, when a friend suggested that I start a fundraiser to help us purchase a new car. I normally wouldn't do something like this, but I thought I would give it a try. We are trying to raise $4,000 to help us purchase a new car. If you can make any type of contribution, we would appreciate it immensely!
